Milestones: Today is my 30th Birthday... Tim and I were talking about the fact that this is our last holiday season without children and we cannot wait until next year when the baby is here and having him try to open presents.

Best moment this week: There were a few great ones! I really enjoyed the birth class! Also, on Friday it was GREAT to hear that the baby is doing so well and that there is no longer any concern (or need to follow up) with his kidneys!
Worst moment this week: My ankles really swelled up on Friday night - now I get to wear super sexy support sock to help with this problem!

Milestones: I spent a lot of time this week working on getting the baby's room organized and it's starting to really sink in that we only have like 6 weeks before he's here!!!

32 Weeks OB Visit

Today I went for my 32 week checkup at the OB. Mom went with me so she could see the baby on the ultrasound. It was a great visit with lots of good news. We found out that he turned and is now head down - which is good news. No more silly google searches for "how to turn your breech baby" LOL! The ultrasound tech also said that he has a lot of hair! Which is quite amazing to me that they can even see that on a ultrasound-- and also because both Daniel and I were bald for like forever -- and Kaitlyn is almost 2 and still does not have a lot of hair. His heart rate was 129, and he is weighing in at an incredible 5 pounds 7 ounces! The Dr said that falls into the 75th percentile! And the best news was that the renal bladders in his kidneys have actually gotten smaller and now fall into the normal range - - so no more worries with that! The baby was very low in the uterus so it was hard to get a good picture, the only one that looks like anything is a profile shot and you can just see his nose, eye and mouth.

28 Week OB Visit

I had my 28 Week OB Checkup today. The visit started with another ultrasound to check on the baby's kidney's. Last month the bladder in the kidney measured 9mm on both the left and right side. This month they measured 6 - 7mm each. The Dr said that they are still considered dilated, but if there is a problem usually they get significantly larger. And since they are slightly smaller that's a good thing. They are going to check again in 4 weeks with another ultrasound just to be on the conservative side. His heart rate was 156, and the ultrasound measurements estimated that he is about 2 pounds 15 ounces! He's also in a breech position, but has lots of time to move. He was moving around a lot, so it was hard to get a good picture, but this one came out pretty good.

Curtains!

We put up the valance that Faith got for us and some curtains today--- Makes the nursery look so cute! I know they could use a good ironing - but I thought I would let gravity do some work for me first!

24 Weeks Dr Visit

Had my 24 weeks checkup and glucose screening today. And the best part was that I got new ultrasound pics today when they re-checked his kidneys. The renal bladder is still in the "mildly" enlarged range, so they will continue to monitor it until he's born -- which means lots more ultrasounds. The Dr. again told me not to worry, it's common in little boys and generally fixes it's self. His heart rate was at 148 beats per minute today and he is weighing in at 1 pounds 15 ounces. I cannot believe he is almost 2 pounds already!! Enjoy the pics :-)

Worst moment this week: When I got a call from Lesly and found out she was in the hospital having contractions. I really felt helpless with her being so far away. But so far, our prayers have been answered and the contractions have gone away

20 Weeks Ultrasound / OB visit

We went for our 20 weeks OB visit and ultrasound today. The first thing the tech looked for was the baby's gender and . . . It's a BOY! ! ! (As you can see in the last pic, the arrow is pointing to his boy parts LOL)

She also checked everything else: his head circumference, the ventricles in his brain, his heart and all the chambers, his vascular system (his heartbeat was 154 bpm), and lots of other things... it was very thorough. Everything looked great. He is currently weighing in at 1 pound. The tech said he has long legs and finger, but since Tim and I are tall, there is no surprise there!

There was a small issue with one of his kidney's, the bladder inside the kidney was slightly larger than they like. Apparently they prefer the size to be around 4mm and his was 6mm. The Dr said it was nothing to lose sleep over or really worry about, but they will do another ultrasound at 24 weeks to double check it.

Milestones: My second OB visit /checkup was super fast. We basically went over the results of the nucal screening (everything was perfect) and talked about the swine flu possible exposure. I was in and out in under 20 minutes, only about 5 spent with the Dr. I go back in 2 weeks for a blood test and then at 20 weeks for the big ultrasound to check all the growth and find out the gender!

Ultrasound Pics 11.5 Weeks

I went to the OB today for a "nuchal translucency screening" to test for Down's syndrome and some other chromosomal abnormalities as well as major congenital heart problems. They basically did an ultrasound, took some measurements and then took some blood. We should have the results in a week, but everything looked great. The baby's heartbeat was 172 beats per minute (nice and strong)! If you look carefully at the pictures you can see that he/she is sucking their thumb :-)
